| Our three months safari began in Kenya, where we visited Samburu Reserve, Lakes Nakuru, Bogoria and Baringo and the Masai Mara. | |
| We crossed into Tanzania at Namanga. The Tanzanian safari included Lake Manyara, the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and Olduvai Gorge. We then flew to Zimbabwe, where the highlights included a sunset trip on the Zambezi river and visits to Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park. | |

Our final destination was South Africa, where we rented an apartment in Tamberskloof, an inner city suburb of Cape Town. Favourite hangouts in Cape Town were Dizzy's Jazz Cafe at Camps Bay and Mannenberg Jazz Club, in Adderly St, a hot spot for township jazz. We ended our African adventure with a safari to Kruger National Park, near Johannesburg. |
